PACIFIC COUNTRIES 33rd PORTS ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE
Introduction
The Pacific Countries Ports Association will be having its annual conference this year (2008) in Papua New Guinea and will be hosted by PNG Ports Corporation Ltd. Each year a host country is selected among others to host the conference and Papua New Guinea was selected to host this year’s conference. Papua New Guinea’s Port authority, PNG Ports Corporation Ltd automatically becomes the host for the event. The last conference was held in Samoa and was hosted by Samoa Ports Authority.
The Objectives of PCPA are;
a) To promote regional cooperation, friendship and understanding between member ports and ports users through mutual association, the exchange of knowledge and the dissemination of information useful to port administrations.
b) The promotion of measures to increase the efficiency and safety and to facilitate the harmonious development of ports in the Pacific Region.
Conference Venue.
The 2008 Pacific Countries Ports Association Conference will be held at the Holiday Inn, Port Moresby.
Conference Date.
The Conference will commence on the 21st - 23rd May 2008.

“Journey Beyond The Pacific”
Participants
The Conference will be attended by about 100 participants which includes 26 South Pacific member countries and 12 Associate members from various shipping industries worldwide.
