The project was initiated by the Executive Management of PNGPCL to; Counter the ongoing issues with power outages in Lae and Meet the increased demand of power supply and to cater for the new infrastructure developments taking place at Lae Port
The project included; The supply and installation of 2 x 1000KVA gensets The supply and installation of a 20,000L fuel tank New Main Switch Board Electrical works
The project was carried out at a cost of approx. K 2 million. This project was one of PNG Ports fundamental and key projects for 2009. There is now a quicker and controlled switch over time and we are in a more better position to cater for the increased infrastructure developments that have been planned to take place in 2010. |
