PNGPCL employee takes high seat in Institute of Builders
PNG Ports Corporation Limited’s (PNGPCL) Manager Building is now the new elected President of the PNG Institute of Builders. (PNGIOB)

Mr. Richard Angeli has been duly elected as the President of the Institute replacing the outgoing Mr. George Tipping.

The announcement was made during the PNGIOB’s Annual General Meeting recently at the Ela Beach Hotel.

Mr. Angeli thanked the outgoing President for setting a firm foundation on which the new Office Bearers would continue to implement the Institute’s vision.

“One of the goals for the PNG Institute of Builders in 2012 is to harness and expand the network of Professionals such as Quantity Surveyors, Contract Administrators, Construction Managers and Project Managers in PNG. We have approximately 200 Members and we hope for this figure to double in 2012,” he said.
 
Mr. Angeli further elaborated that: “This Institute is very much a key participant in the PNG Construction Industry and it is my aspiration to continue key relationships with other professional bodies such as the Institute of Engineers PNG and PNG Institute of Architects. The Institute has again been awarded representation on the NCDC Building Board which clearly indicates confidence in the Institute and it is my job to ensure this confidence in the Institute continues.”Insert:    Newly elected President Mr. Angeli and outgoing President Mr. Tipping shaking hands after the elections.

Mr. Angeli holds a Bachelor Degree in Building from the University of Technology in Lae and has extensive experience in areas of Contract Administration, Construction Management and Quantity Surveying. Apart from the PNG Institute of Builders, Mr. Angeli is also a Member of the Australian Institute of Project Management.
